Supreme Court to hear plea for the cancellation of CBSE and CISCE board examination

The Supreme Court of India will hear a plea for cancellation of board examination of Class 10 and Class 12 conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and other state and central education boards.

Notably, the CBSE, the CISCE boards and some other state boards are conducting board exams in two terms where the term 1 exams are already over. In most of the states, board exams are scheduled for the month of March-April, 2022.

Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana has accepted the request and asked for the urgent listing of the writ petition. The matter will now be overseen by a bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar.

The petetion filed by the students of 15 states has looked for the supreme court’s mediation against the board tests of the CBSE, CISCE, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and other state boards. The applicants additionally mentioned elective appraisal techniques rather than composed tests.

CBSE, CISCE and a few different boards have effectively led term 1 tests. The CISCE has additionally reported results of the term 1 or semester 1 tests.
