ASMA’s Thought Leadership Forum webinar on Challenges and Opportunities of Higher Education in 2022 & Beyond saw major discussions on the impact of online learning in higher education, how the job industry changed with covid, and what steps can be taken to tackle the predominant challenges that the system is facing.

Dr. Srinivasan Iyengar was one of the eminent speakers of the webinar. Dr. Srinivasan R Iyengar is the Director at JBIMS, University of Mumbai. He is a teacher, researcher, author, trainer, consultant, and interested in consistent learning & Sharing Knowledge.

Dr. Srinivasan Iyengar starts by sharing some of his experiences as a Director at JBIMS – Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

He says that if the last year’s placements are seen in JBIMS during the covid, some outstanding experiences were coming to them. It happened the first time in 65 years that they were able to place the student in three days which is indeed a great achievement for them. When they probed into the matter, then they realized that the business scenario is fast changing today because of which they were able to make the hiring process faster.

Dr. Srinivasan Iyengar in ASMA’s Thought Leadership Forum webinar also talks about the history of the business scenario where things were quite different almost a decade back. He discusses how different industries came into being slowly with the development of mankind and the proliferation of numerous businesses.

Dr. Iyengar also says that the introduction of the World Wide Web (www) also changed the entire business scenario as people slowly started to realize the value of digitization and how they can utilize it to the utmost to bring in profit to their business.

ASMA’s Thought Leadership Forum discussion got even more energetic as Dr. Iyengar brings his focus on the need to talk about the value ethics which should be first focussed upon, then we would be able to position ourselves in the worldwide market.

He also focuses on the fact how digitization disrupted the business industry. In the same way, disruptive innovation also happened in the academic sector. In the coming days, we would see that the conventional jobs would be no more. Today we are moving towards an economy that is disruptive and everybody out there is talking about innovative disruption only.
