Rupkatha Sarkar, Principal of La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata, has been in the field of education for the last 30 years.
She is a post-graduate of Calcutta University and graduated from Presidency College, Calcutta. She completed a B.Ed from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta with an Educational Management Diploma in Administration.
Sarkar serves in an advisory capacity for several School and College Boards and conducts skill development and capacity building workshops for teachers and students. She is also a member of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce (Education sector)
She has been recognised by the British Council for incorporating international dimensions into the school curriculum and mentoring other schools in the network. She also engages in social work through community projects for women and children by Soroptimist International.
Sarkar is the recipient of several awards for her work as an inspiring teacher and educator, including the Mother Teresa International Award for Education.
