Professor Suku Bhaskaran, President of GD Goenka University, has close to four decades of international experience in teaching, research and leadership roles in the higher education and corporate sectors.
Prof Bhaskaran earned his PhD from Monash University. He has successfully tendered for several internationally and nationally competitive research grants and also managed these projects.
He was a Consultant for the ‘Excellence in Research for Australia’, an initiative by the Australian government to scope and develop research excellence in Australian universities.
He was also an IntReader (Expert Assessor of International Standing) for the Australian Research Council, Australia’s peak R&D funding agency.
He has served on the Editorial Board of several highly tiered scholarly journals; and has mentored several early career academic staff.
Prof Bhaskaran has authored more than 100 scholarly research publications and research monographs, several of these as the lead author.
