75% attendance made compulsory as colleges resume
The Department of Pre-University Education (PUE) makes 75% attendance compulsory for students attempting for I and II PUC final examinations as offline classes in colleges have returned to a pre-Covid stage.
Earlier in 2022, students were given more options in each part of the question paper. However, 100% syllabus has been made compulsory since then and the question paper pattern will be similar to what it was back in 2019.
During the academic year 2020 – 2021, all I and II PUC students were promoted. In the next year, only 30% of the subjects remained amongst the other language subjects and the question papers had more options in each segment.
Ramachandran R, director of PUE said that from this year, 75% attendance is compulsory and the entire syllabus will be covered.
Since last year, many colleges were still conducting classes online, the attendance rule was removed. As this academic year begins, students have been advised to attend their classes regularly. The question paper patterns were changed in the years of the pandemic to not overly stress out the kids. Now that things have normalised, the other question paper pattern returns.
The students are happy to have returned to college.
