Compassionate Appointment for Family of Govt Universities and HE Institutions Staff Who Succumbed to Covid
The Directorate of Higher Education has said that spouses, immediate/dependent family members of teaching and non-teaching staff of Government Universities and higher education institutions, who succumbed to the virus, will be given jobs on compassionate grounds
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people lost their lives due to which the immediate or dependent family members suffered a blow. Therefore, the spouses, immediate/dependent family members of teaching as well as non-teaching staff of Government Universities and higher education institutions, who succumbed to the virus, will be given jobs on compassionate grounds.
These instructions come directly from the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE). They have directed institutions to speed up appointments. It has been recorded that more than 900 employees of government and private higher educational institutions have tested positive for the virus to date.
The process is already underway and the collection of documents and information has started. The DHE has requested Covid-19 positive reports, hospital admission-related papers, undertaking affidavit from the family members of those who were infected and were being treated at home, and so on.
According to statistics from various sources, about 19 teaching and non-teaching staff from across 40 government colleges in Indore died due to COVID-19, while 292 had tested positive. About 176 people associated with 11 government colleges tested positive, with eight succumbing to the disease — four professors, two guest faculty members, three grade III and one grade IV employee.
Collection of information from all government colleges in Indore district including Govt Holkar Science C College, Atal Bihari Bajpai Government Arts and Commerce College (GACC), New Science College, Government Law College, Mata Jijabai Govt Girls PG College (Old GDC), New GDC College, Government College Rau, Bherulal Patidar Government College, Sanwer Government College, and Sanskrit College has begun.
Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) alone has reported twelve deaths —3 teaching faculty and 9 non-teaching staff — where 140 had tested positive.
For compassionate appointments, a committee has already been set up to undertake and complete the whole process.
