JEE Main 2021 April Session Postponed Due to Widespread Covid-19: Ramesh Pokhriyal
The JEE Main 2021 is now scheduled to be held from May 24 to 28, 2021
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to postpone the April session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2021 due to the rapid surge in Covid-19 cases. The NTA had released an official circular for all the students to inform them of the postponement of the JEE Main 2021 on April 18, 2021. The earlier schedule of the JEE Main 2021 was planned to start from April 27 to 30, 2021.
Union Minister of Education Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal took to Twitter to announce this news. He tweeted, “Given the current Covid 19 situation, I have advised NTA to postpone the JEE Main 2021 April session. I would like to reiterate that the safety of our students & their academic career is the Education ministry’s and my prime concern right now. Please note: The dates of JEE (Main) – 2021 April session will be announced later on or at least 15 days before the examination.”
The official notice released by the NTA says, “Looking at the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the JEE (Main) – 2021 April Session. The revised dates for the JEE (Main) – 2021 April session will be announced later on or at least 15 days before the examination. In the meantime, candidates are advised to use this time to prepare themselves better for the examination. They can also take practice (full length/ chapter wise) tests on the NTA Abhyas App from the comfort of their homes.”
The NTA has allowed multiple attempts for the examination to reduce the pressure on the students and to give them a chance to improve their performance. The JEE Main 2021 is now scheduled to be held from May 24 to 28, 2021.
Multiple exams have been postponed this week, including NEET PG 2021, due to the surge in the Covid-19 cases across the country.
