Karnataka becomes the first Indian state to launch the NEP policy

The Karnataka Government recently launched NEP, also known as the National Educational Policy, on Monday, 23rd August 2021, thus becoming the first state to start the NDAs regime, which promised revolutionary changes in schools and universities would operate.

BJP government recently launched a new policy which ignored the demands earlier this month from the Congress leader Siddaramaiah who urged the chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to get the government notification paving the way for the NEP implementation withdrawn.

From the national level to the Congress is in support of the new policy.

BJP refused to budge over it, and the Chief Minister informed that the NEP showed the prime minister’s foresightedness for revolutionising the education system. At the launch event, the Chief Minister announced that Karnataka would soon develop a new policy for driving the R&D activities in the Higher Learning institutions. The policy which he added would bring the educational institutions, industries and R&D lab.

Union Education Minister Mr Dharmendra Pradhan, while launching this policy virtually from Delhi, said that Karnataka is proud to take this giant stride in the transformation of the entire education landscape by implementing the NEP program.

Chief Minister also said that the NEP is focused on the research and development aspects. There are almost about 180 R&D centres that have International accreditation in the state, and the state also proposed that these are in the policy would bind all the education Institutions together.

Bommai also said that the government would soon notify people on the digitisation policy digital initiative are incredibly crucial in various government till activities especially transaction-related. Digital access would be provided to every village of the Karnataka state, which in turn would facilitate online education.
