Rajasthan Schools to Operate in two different shifts

As the schools have started re-opening in various Indian states, the Rajasthan Education Department has finally issued an SOP, that the schools shall be running in two shifts. The Rajasthan government decided to reopen schools from September 1st from class 9th to 12th standard.

As per the SOP guideline, the first set of students belonging from the class 9th and 11th would attend the school from morning 7:30 a.m. to noon 12:30 p.m. The second set of the same batch shall attend their classes from noon 12:30 p.m. to evening 5:30 p.m.

In the same way, the first set of students belonging to classes 10th and 12th would be attending the school from morning 8 a.m. to noon 1 p.m. The second batch of the same classes would be coming to school from noon 1 p.m. to evening 6 p.m. Also, there would be a gap of 30 minutes as lunch hours.

A senior official from the education department has also confirmed that this shift system would help them to cope up with the rising number of Covid-19 cases along with following the social distancing norms.

The department also said that the students would fit in a fully ventilated classroom. Also, the parents would be required to provide written consent of permitting their children to attend schools. Students would also be required to follow the covid-19 protocols.

There would be no assembly meeting in schools no sports activities. However, lunch would be permitted only in open spaces. Students who are unable to attend classes would be provided with online study materials. Saurabh Swami, the director of Secondary Education Rajasthan informed that both Government and private schools would have to compulsorily follow all the SOPs.
