Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Maharashtra government has enforced an extended lockdown until 31st October 2020, wherein, all educational institutions, such as schools and colleges will reportedly remain closed.
The government has issued COVID-19 guidelines which call for wearing face coverings at all times at places of work, social distancing and avoiding social gatherings. The regulations also recommend that work from home should be the preferred mode of working, while online and distance learning would be further encouraged.
The guidelines come as many states have begun their unlocking plans, which include the reopening of schools. However, many state governments have deferred reopening schools until after mid-October or November.
