On Monday in a Press Conference, Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, said that the schools would reopen only if there are no presumptions of the occurrence of covid-19 third wave.

Although the number of cases in Kerala and Maharashtra is rising, the schools there might remain open after Diwali.

However, in West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee informed that this would be based on the situation.

Whereas the Maharashtra government has decided to open schools in the state from August 17, 2021, the state government in West Bengal has decided to start with the schools unless the coronavirus cases are entirely under control.
