Over 3900 teaching positions vacant at DU

More than 3,900 teaching positions are vacant in constituent schools of the University of Delhi and more than 3000 instructors are specially appointed on ad-hoc basis against those empty posts, the Rajya Sabha informed on Wednesday.

Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar gave the data in a composed reaction to an inquiry in the House.

“An all out number of 3,959 teaching positions are empty and 3,047 instructors are by and by dealing with a specially appointed premise against those vacant teaching posts in every one of the constituent schools of the University of Delhi,” Sarkar said.

Delhi University: College-wise opening 

The highest number of vacant teaching posts are at Gargi College (216), followed by Janki Devi Memorial College (169), Ramjas College (143), Deshbandhu College (132), and Sri Venkateswara College (131).
