After waiting for several months, thousands of UGC-NET aspirants who were supposed to sit for the examination from 17th to 25th October were left disappointed as the NTA re-scheduled the UGC NET examinations again. The National Eligibility Test (NET) which is conducted on behalf of UGC or United Grants Commission for determining the assistant professor eligibility and Junior research fellowship has already been thrice rescheduled.

One of the candidates named Ayush Verma, who is an MA in political science from Delhi University said that he was all set to prepare for the examination but the last moment announcement of NTA has come as a complete setback for the students who have been waiting and preparing for it for a long time. The delays deprive students of their attempts to sit for the examination and improve their chances of getting scholarships. The NTA seems to be overburdened with the setting up of dates for various examinations like NEET, JEE, hotel management, and so on.

Another candidate Nandini Dixit was extremely disheartened with the constant rescheduling of the examination. As per her opinion, candidates were hoping to get admission to the Ph.D. programs that would be totally based on the JRF or NET scores. Nandini also highlights the fact that this frequency in the change in the schedule is actually impacting the students as they prepare for other examinations as well.
