Four IITs get their new directors

Four IITs, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Mandi and IIT Indore, got it’s new directors on Monday.

Prof. Rangan Banerjee who is from IIT Bombay is appointed as the new IIT Delhi director. Prof Banerjee was previously associated with IIT Bombay’s the Department of Energy Sciences and Engineering.

Prof. V Kamakoti, the man behind India’s first microprocessor which is indigenously-developed , known as ‘SHAKTI’ has been appointed as the new IIT Madras director.

Electrical engineering professor at IIT Kanpur, Prof. Laxmidhar Behera has been appointed as the new director of IIT Mandi, whereas the mechanical engineering professor, Mr. Suhas Joshi of IIT Bombay has been appointed as the new director of IIT Indore.
