Government School in Delhi To Be Renamed After Tokyo Olympics 2020 Silver Medalist Ravi Dahiya

A government school in Delhi, based in the Adarsh Nagar area will now be renamed after the Olympic medal winner and its alumnus, Ravi Dahiya according to reports. This news was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday,17th of August 2021.

The school will be renamed Ravi Dahiya Bal Vidyalaya.

Ravi Dahiya, aged 23 made his debut Olympic appearance in Tokyo Olympics 2020 and grabbed a silver medal in the wrestling field. Also, he is the second Indian to receive a Silver Medal at the Olympics in wrestling.

Minister Sisodiya recently tweeted that the Olympic medallist Ravi Dahiya received a warm welcome at his own school in the Adarsh Nagar area. It was an extremely emotional moment for both the teachers and students as they welcome the government’s decision to name the school after him.
