New Education Policy is Futuristic and in Accordance with World Standards: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Association of Indian Universities’ 95th annual meet and national seminar of Vice-Chancellors via video conferencing on April 14, 2021.

While addressing the annual meet, PM Modi spoke about the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) and said, “The New Education Policy is futuristic and follows all global parameters.”

He also said that India takes pride in being the mother of democracy and its values are embodied in the social lives of the citizens. Modi said India walks on the principles of ‘Aatmnirbhar’ (self-reliance) and because of this; the role of skilled youth is continuously increasing.

On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Modi said, “Dr Ambedkar has given us a strong foundation to take forward all our democratic values after the Independence.”

The New Education Policy (NEP) was unveiled last year by the Centre.

The annual meet was hosted by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The event was also attended by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani
