PM Internship Scheme: Registration Now Open; Eligible Youth Can Apply for 12-Month Paid Internship
The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme has officially launched, opening the application process for one crore eligible young Indians. Starting today at 5 pm, interested candidates can register and apply online through the official portal — pminternship.mca.gov.in.
The internship aims to provide youth with practical work experience and financial support for 12 months. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000, with Rs 500 funded by companies under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Rs 4,500 contributed by the government. Additionally, interns will receive one-time financial assistance of Rs 6,000 for incidental expenses.
In line with the government’s effort to provide security, all interns will also be covered under the PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, with the government covering the insurance premiums.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the scheme, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Completed high school (Class 12) and hold any of the following credentials:
- ITI certificate
- Diploma from a Polytechnic Institute
- Degree such as BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, or BPharma
- Age: Between 21 to 24 years at the time of application
- Employment Status: Must not be engaged in a full-time job or education.
- Nationality: Indian citizens only.
Applicants enrolled in online or distance learning programs are also eligible.

Follow these steps to register for the PM Internship Scheme:
- Visit the portal: Go to pminternship.mca.gov.in.
- Register: Scroll down to the “Register” option and click on it.
- Create Profile: Fill out the registration form with your details and upload the required documents.
- Submit: Click the “Submit” button to complete your registration.
Candidates can apply to up to five internship opportunities based on their preferences, and the portal will auto-generate a resume based on the provided details. There is no registration or application fee for the scheme.
