Shri UN Khaware, Senior Consultant, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and Ex Additional Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), began his tenure with KVS as Education Officer (now known as Assistant Commissioner) in November 1995 and was instrumental in setting up several path-breaking projects in the organisation, including Back to Basics, Funday, Anandvar, Tarunotsav, among others.

He also worked in KVS Head Quarters in various capacities such as Assistant Commissioner, Joint Commissioner (ACAD) and Joint Commissioner (ADMN), and also worked in NIOS as Secretary on deputation.

He completed his MA in English and Hindi (Gold Medallist).

Khaware was previously associated with various organisations such as Ramakrishna Mission, Atomic Energy, Education Society, All India Radio and NABARD.

At KVS, Khaware focused on innovations and experimentations in areas such as assessment, examination, curriculum development, sports and games and strengthening of pre-primary education. He was also involved in the development of handbooks for Primary classes (targets, tools and techniques) and pre-primary classes (a primer for pre-primary) in the late ‘90s which are still referred to by KVS teachers for guidance.

He also headed Regional Offices in Guwahati and Chandigarh as Deputy Commissioner and contributed a greatly towards the improvement of the functioning of the KVS office under his jurisdiction.

Khaware has received great acclaim for his training skills and contribution to mentoring, framing training policies and preparation of various course modules.
