Dr Alka Kale, Principal, KLE Institute of Dental Science, Belagavi has 32 years of teaching at the UG, PG and PhD levels at KLE VK Institute of Dental Sciences, Belgaum.

She has a Bachelor’s of Dental Surgery degree from Nagpur University, a Master’s degree of Dental Surgery in Oral Pathology from Nagpur University and a PhD in Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Faculty of Dentistry, KLE University, Belagavi. Dr Kale is a Fellow in Oral Pathology & Microbiology, IAOMP, India.

Dr Kale began her career as a Lecturer in 1988 at KLE Dental College, Belgaum. She was also Dean – Faculty of Dentistry, KLE University, Belgaum.

She has authored more than 60 scientific papers and posters in local, state and national level conferences. She has also conducted numerous workshops on Dental Education Technology: Training of Trainers, Evidence-Based Dentistry, OSPE & OSCE, MCQ Writing and Assessment.

Dr Kale is the recipient of eight national and state-level awards for scientific paper presentations. She was also awarded the ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ by the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists.
