Dr. M S Shyamasundar is the senior most Adviser in National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). As one of the first team of officers of NAAC, he has been a part of its developmental activities for more than two decades.He has secured Ph. D (Agricultural Economics) with high distinction, first rank in M. Sc. (Ag. Econ.) with two gold medals, third rank in B.Sc. (Ag.Ma.Co), destination in PGDBA and Graduate Certificate in Quality Assurance from the University of Melbourne, Australia.  He was a recipient of Ford Foundation Fellowship for Doctoral Research.Having worked as Research Fellow, Research Associate, Research Officer, Assistant Adviser and Deputy Adviser in different organisations, he has rich experience in teaching, research and academic administration with a good academic record.

He has officiated as the Director, NAAC on several occasions and Acting Director for a brief period. He was the member of Executive Committee (EC), General Council (GC) and Finance Committee (FC) of NAAC, which are the policy making authorities. He was the Public Information Officer at NAAC. He is also the first Appellate Authority and the Chief Vigilance Officer at NAAC. He is heading Administration and Finance in NAAC. He is the Chairman of Centralized Complaints Management Committee (CCMC), Investment Committee, Purchase Committee and Publication Committee in NAAC. He is the Nodal Officer for coordinating all the Peer Team Visits in NAAC. He is the Head of the North-Eastern Region Cell and Chairman of various Committees’. He has shared the dias with many Hon’ble Governors of various States. Also, he has shared dias with several Hon’ble Ministers of Education and similar dignitaries in different parts of the Country. He is the UGC Nominee on the Governing Body of Yashvantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara, Maharashtra.
