Dr V A Raikar, Vice-Chancellor, Sanjay Ghodawat University has served as an academician in BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli in different capacities, including as Assistant Professor and Head of Department. He was also the Principal of KIT (Kolhapur) from 2005-2009. In 2009 he joined as the Founding Director at Sanjay Ghodawat Group of Institutions. After this Dr Raikar served as the Principal of Government College of Engineering, Karwar, Karnataka from 2011 – 2014.

Dr Raikar completed his B.E from SJCE, Mysore, his M.Tech from NIT Warangal (Andhra Pradesh) and his PhD from KUVEMPU University. Dr Raikar also has an MBA from YCMOU.

He has published more than 30 papers in international and national journals. He has been instrumental in garnering approximately Rs 25 crores from various funding agencies to promote academics.

He has been awarded the ‘Best Principal’ award through Global Leaders Foundation on 29th July 2016 at New Delhi for his contribution towards upliftment of Education in India.

Dr V.A. Raikar is also on expert committees of AICTE, New Delhi; DEC, New Delhi; NBA, New Delhi; UGC, New Delhi. He has been nominated by UGC, New Delhi Govt of India as Executive Council Member at Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum for a period of 3 years.
