Hon’ble Minister Thokchom Radheshyam Singh, Minister of Education, Government of Manipur was elected from the Heirok Assembly constituency. He serves in the Cabinet of N Biren Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister of the State of Manipur, India.

Minister Thokchom Radheshyam Singh completed his post-graduation from Jamia Milia Islamia in 1988 and joined the Manipur Police Service through MPSC in September 1991. He served as Superintendents of Police of Different Districts & Commandants of Armed Battalions in Manipur.

He received an Honorary Doctorate of Science in Political Science from the European University of Brcko District (EUBO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Belgrade City of Serbia on the 6th December 2019.

He also worked as Regional Chief of Human Rights in the United Nation’s Mission at Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2001. In November 2016, he voluntarily retired as an IPS officer.

Minister Singh worked as Counsellor and Programme Officer in a Centrally sponsored Project, ‘New Life’ Centre for Counselling, Treatment, De-Addiction, and Rehabilitation of Drug Users’ from 1988 – 1991

He is the recipient of several national and state awards including the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry, the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service, the Police Medals for Chief of Indian Army, Commendation & Disc of Chief of Army Staff and DGP Manipur Medals
